Massage at Inna

Massage at Inna is about more than simply working on tight muscles. It’s an opportunity to slow down, release some of the physical tension we accumulate through everyday life and give the body an hour where very little is being asked of it.

Jodie offers both Intuitive Massage and Bioresonance Massage, bringing her experience of hands-on bodywork together with the way we already think about wellbeing at Inna, where creating the right conditions for the body to rest and recover is just as important as the things we actively do to support it.

More Than Working on Muscles

We can spend a surprising amount of our day in a state of activity, whether we’re driving, working, thinking, responding, exercising, looking after other people or simply moving from one thing to the next. Even when we eventually stop physically, it doesn’t necessarily mean that everything else has switched off with us.

Massage introduces a very different kind of sensory input. Touch, pressure and warmth all provide information to the nervous system, while an hour away from phones, decisions and everyday demands gives the body something many of us probably don’t get enough of: genuine downtime.

This relationship between touch and the nervous system is one of the reasons massage can leave us feeling different beyond simply having looser muscles. As we begin to relax, breathing may slow and muscular tension can ease, creating an opportunity for the body to move away from a more alert state and towards greater parasympathetic activity, often referred to as our ‘rest and digest’ state.

There’s something quite lovely about the fact that, unlike so many of the things we do in the name of health, this doesn’t require us to achieve anything or try particularly hard. Sometimes simply creating the right environment to slow down is enough.

Jodie’s Approach to Massage

Jodie’s approach is intuitive and responsive rather than based around performing exactly the same sequence on every person. She pays attention to where you’re holding tension, how your body responds to touch, your breathing, comfort and the amount of pressure that feels right for you, adapting the treatment as the session progresses.

Some days you might arrive carrying a lot of physical tension and benefit from more focused bodywork, while on another day what feels most valuable might be warmth, slower touch and an hour in which your body is simply allowed to soften. The treatment meets you where you are on that particular day, rather than expecting your body to fit a predetermined routine.

Bringing Bioresonance and Massage Together

Jodie has brought together two areas of her practice and passions: intuitive massage and BICOM bioresonance.

Our Bioresonance Massage combines the physical and sensory experience of touch, movement, warmth and relaxation with the frequency-based approach of BICOM.

While massage works directly with the body, helping to ease physical tension and encourage a deeper state of relaxation, BICOM introduces another layer of information through resonance, creating an experience that brings together the physical body, the nervous system and that often harder-to-define sense of mental and emotional wellbeing.

It’s this combination that makes the treatment feel so complete. The two approaches are different, but they complement each other beautifully and feel very natural within the way we work at Inna, with massage remaining at the heart of the treatment and bioresonance adding another dimension to the experience.

Rather than us trying to describe exactly what that combination feels like, we thought it would be much more interesting to share the experience of someone who has actually tried it.

Chantal’s Experience

“I had the absolute best treatment that combined both bioresonance and massage to further integrate the benefits of each treatment. It was one of the best massages I’ve ever received.

Jodie is incredibly intuitive with her treatments and cares deeply about your experience and the end result. The treatment was deeply relaxing, yet when I came to, I felt revived, nourished and had this beautiful feeling, plus the effects of the bioresonance all at the same time.

The best way I could describe the feeling was, ‘Yummy!!’ It is something you’ll want to have over and over again. The effects lasted beyond the treatment.

I would have to say that Jodie’s hands are also filled with light. Whilst over my third eye they felt uplifting and expansive.”

A Little Less Doing

There’s something about massage that fits rather nicely with the way we think about wellbeing at Inna, particularly as health can so quickly become another list of things we feel we should be doing. We can find ourselves thinking about what to eat, what to take, how to exercise, whether we should meditate, how we should breathe, whether we’ve had enough morning light and what else we need to do to improve our sleep or support our nervous system.

All of those things can have their place, but wellbeing doesn’t always have to involve adding more. Sometimes taking an hour away from the noise, where you don’t need to achieve anything, fix anything or think about what you should be doing next, can be valuable in itself.

That’s really what we want massage at Inna to offer: dedicated time to slow down, be looked after and give your body an opportunity to settle.
